Lets work together to end hepatitis B, Health workers challenged

A delegation from ministry of health have held a meeting with the Kagadi district health workers from different health facilities with a call to take care of hepatitis B patients in the district.

The meeting was held this afternoon at Kagadi community hall in Kagadi town council purposely to train health workers on testing, prevention and treatment of viral hepatitis infections.

Dr Felix Kawaya from the ministry of health  speaking to journalists after the workshop said, hepatitis B has affected people globally asserting that, the virus spreads through sexual intercourse and expectant mothers can spread it to fetus.

He has asked people to consider voluntary testing and vaccination of Hepatitis B that majorly attacks inner organs such as the liver.

Dr Felix Kawaya has also cautioned trainees to implement the acquired skills in the fight against Hepatitis B spread.
