More than 1700 people in custody

The Russian police have detained more than 1,700 protesters in dozens of cities. Demonstrations also took place as far as the eastern city of Khabarovsk, far from the southern city of Tolyatti, according to a Moscow Times report


. There were also demonstrations in the capital Moscow and St. Petersburg. In Moscow alone, 100 people have been detained. Social activist Marina on Thursday appealed to the Russians to take part in the march against the Russian military campaign in Ukraine.



Warning to protesters

Meanwhile, protesters in Russia have been warned. Russian security forces have stated that any unauthorized gatherings are illegal. No gathering of any kind is allowed.

Demonstrations in the US

Demonstrations are also taking place in the US against the Russian attack on Ukraine. Hundreds of people have protested outside the White House. People have also protested outside the Russian embassy.
