Kagadi, Suspected motorcycle thief lynched to death.

KagadiAngry residents mostly Boda Boda riders in Kisankwa village Kinyarugonjo sub-county Kagadi district have killed a yet to identified man accusing him of stealing a motorcycle.

The incident occurred today morning at around 8:00pm along Kagadi-Hoima road in Kisankwa village Kinyarugonjo parish Kinyarugonjo sub county Kagadi district.

The suspect was accused of stealing a motorcycle registration number UFM 405K Babaj the owner not identified.

Kyamanywa the village chairperson speaking to our journalists said Boda boda riders from Kagadi and Kyenzige town councils and Kinyarugonjo sub-county in Kagadi district received a phonecall alerting them to take action of arresting a man in his 20’s who was driving a stolen motorcycle from Kazoo district but when they intercepted him instead beat him to death.Kyamanywa has however warned members of the general public to desist from any act of mob justice.

Residents and other Boda Boda riders have condemned the increasing motorcycle theft attributing it to unemployment among the youth.

DPC Kagadi district SP Moses Kiconco Muzima has confirmed mob justice thus warning people to desist from taking laws into their hands.

By the press time, the lifeless body had been picked by police to Kagadi general hospital for postmortem.
